I took James horse back riding this weekend quite by accident. A friend Robin invited us to the barn to meet her horse and the other animals. The women who ride there were so sweet to James, and Robin's friend/neighbor Annie asked if James could try riding her horse, Harry. James LOVED it! He was most excited when the horse was moving, and all hands were on him so we didn't take pictures then, but he was ecstatic. When he got off, he just sat in the grass next to Harry watching him eat, then tried eating some grass himself! Then he lifted his arms for me to pick him up, and stretched out his legs to try and get back on the horse! [For you safety conscious folks out there, this is the last time James will ever be allowed to ride without a helmet, but I'm glad we tried it!]
As an added bonus, Mom got to ride too! I rode when I was younger, but it's been about 15 years since I've been on a horse. It was a wonderful day overall, and we'll definitely be going back!
