Christmas Tree Farm
James had a field trip to Bradbury's Christmas Tree Farm this morning. It was below freezing when we left the house, so I was worried about going as James is anti-coat right now, but I didn't want him to miss it.
The trip started off a bit rocky:
'Get this thing off of me!'
'Get me off this hay ride!'
But as James noticed his buddies having fun, he perked right up!
'Wait for me guys!'
Hands in pockets--too cute!

Tent Revival
We got this tent for J's Bday, and he loved it for about 3 days, then forgot it was there. I was thinking of taking it down for a while when he suddenly renewed his interest in it, and decided it was the perfect spot for his Megablocks!
Story of the week: We've been working hard on making James more independent, and dressing is a target skill right now. James can put on elastic waist pants and socks by himself, but needs some assistance still with shirts. Last night, we were getting ready for bed on the floor of his room next to his dresser. James put on the PJ pants we handed him, and John and I clapped and cheered. James then pulled another pair of pants out of his dresser and started putting them on over the ones he already had on. John and I expressed some doubt that he needed 2 pairs on, but we waited for him to finish putting them on himself. He then took my hands in his. I thought he wanted me to stand up, but he started pushing my hands together, trying to get me to clap for him for successfully putting on his second pair of PJs! James makes us laugh every day.
